Sen School Lead

Salary: £47,472 per annum, plus £3,000 Lead Allowance
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time, Term Time Only
Hours: 40 hours per week

Reporting to: Assistant Headteacher

We are seeking an inspiring and experienced School Lead to take responsibility for a specialist education provision and play a key role in driving its continued success.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident educational leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality education, developing staff, and making a lasting difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs.

Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the provision, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning, effective pastoral support, and positive outcomes for every learner.

• Lead the day-to-day operational management of the education provision.

• Ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching, learning, and pastoral support.

• Drive improvements in behaviour, attendance, engagement, and student achievement.

• Act as a Safeguarding Lead alongside the Headteacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead, promoting a strong safeguarding culture across the provision.

• Lead, support, and develop staff through effective coaching, supervision, and performance management.

• Monitor student progress and use data to identify priorities and drive continuous improvement.

• Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team, families, local authorities, and external professionals.

• Support curriculum development, ensuring learning is personalised and responsive to individual needs.

• Lead on reporting, reviews, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement.

The successful candidate will:

• Have proven leadership experience within an educational setting, with experience in SEND or alternative provision being highly desirable.

• Be passionate about creating an inclusive, nurturing, and ambitious learning environment.

• Have a strong track record of improving behaviour, attendance, and educational outcomes.

• Be confident in leading, motivating, and developing staff teams.

• Be able to analyse and use data effectively to inform decision-making and improve performance.

• Demonstrate excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
