MFL Teacher (French and/or Spanish) in Darlington

At Teaching Personnel, we have an exciting opportunity to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Teacher of Modern Foreign Lanaguages. 

One of our partnership schools based in Darlington, are currently looking to recruit a French or Spanish Teacher to start from October half-term or sooner. The school are looking for a candidate who is highly knowledgeable in their subject and can engage pupils in their studies.

  • Full-time MFL Teacher
  • Post starting from October half-term 2023 and will initally run until Easter 2024
  • Permanent contract available 
  • Pay in line with teacher pay scale 
  • Planning, marking, and delivering a full timetable across KS3 & KS4 in line with the current National Curriculum
  • Based in Darlington 

Details of the role

  • To implement and deliver an appropriate, broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated French/Spanish curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate
  • To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students within the subject
  • To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
  • To share and support the academy’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth
  • To be able to support students of varying abilities

The successful candidate will

  • Hold a UK recognised QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
  • Have successful teaching experience at secondary level (can be teaching practice)
  • Understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning
  • Understand the importance of high expectations and equality of access for all students
  • Have knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4 level for Modern Foreign Languages, and of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students' work
  • Be able to work as part of a team and to develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff
  • Have a good level of ICT skills, ideally including innovative use of interactive white boards
  • Be able to create a motivating and safe learning environment for all students and raise their aspirations through a range of strategies
  • Be able to communicate positively, both written and verbally
