A well-established and Ofsted-rated GOOD secondary school in Essex is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) to join their permanent staff team from January 2025. The successful candidate will be required to teach both French and Spanish across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to contribute to the development of the MFL curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in French and Spanish across a range of abilities.
  • Inspire and engage students with creative and effective teaching strategies.
  • Prepare and assess students for GCSE examinations, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the MFL department.
  • Actively participate in whole-school initiatives and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A strong academic background with a degree in French and/or Spanish or a related discipline.
  • Proven ability to teach both French and Spanish up to at least GCSE level.
  • Experience working within a secondary school environment, with a track record of raising student achievement.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
  • Passion for languages and a commitment to fostering cultural understanding.

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching A-Level French or Spanish.
  • Familiarity with current trends and best practices in MFL education.
  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities, such as language clubs or international trips.
